NORTH EAST POET AND ARTIST
Doric - The Language of North East Scotland
AMONG THE STEENS

Among
The Steens is the title of my third book of poetry and
prose. In a similar vein to the previous two books, this
collection brings to the reader, writing which reflects issues
facing the people of the North East.
There are some reflective pieces which I hope will provoke
thought and possibly discussion on the subject. The humour of the
area is not forgotten and there should be something in here to
bring a smile to the grimmest face.
At £4.00 (+pp) it is on sale throughout the area and from myself by contacting me at my e-mail address.
Here
are a few extracts from the book:
From "AMONG THE STEENS"
Some fowk may gaze up at the skies
Fan lookin for life's hidden prize
The langin sair for aa ti see
They sair desire eternity
But gin they thocht ti lower their een
They'd dee waar than look among the steens
From "OPPOSITE SIDES"
Since 'at time aa roon the coast
The sea and the rocks hiv strivven
And neither's gotten the upper han
As yet nae an inch has been given
From "POLITICS"
If President Clinton wanted a brak
Awa fae runnin the USA
