First, thank you for taking the time to visit these web pages.
I have specialised in animal art for over ten years now and still find each new portrait a fresh and exciting challenge. I use water colours to produce my paintings of dogs, cats, horses, you name it. These are all done from a good photograph (or photographs) and I pay great attention to trying to capture the unique expression of the animal. I have also produced portraits of two or more animals from different photographs (see the gundog sample). Many of my customers commission me to paint their pets as a unique and lasting memory of their beloved friend. Many also choose to give one of my paintings as a very special gift. With a painting you can be sure that no one else in whole wide world has one exactly like that. It is unique in every possible way - just like the subject. It is this uniqueness that I try and capture in my portraits.
